When managing business operations turn out to be challenging, business owners and management teams are often seen debating whether to implement an ERP solution or not. With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry and multi-domain expertise, its team is known to re-engineer business processes, optimize resources, develop and deploy user-friendly, flexible, and cost-efficient industry-specific solutions.

In conversation with Ali Hyder, CEO at Focus Softnet

How long have you been working with this product?

Focus Softnet’s suite of products has been in development and evolution for a period of close to 3 decades. Over the past 28 years, we have rolled out various versions, updates, upgrades, and products in the space of Digital Transformation of Business Administration Systems such as ERP, CRM, Manufacturing, Retail and Trade, Warehousing, and many more.

The tech stack has evolved across platforms from the MS-DOS era into today’s cloud environments.

What is the most interesting thing about your job?

As a tech vendor, we are in a privileged position to work with a wide variety of businesses across an equally diverse landscape of industries.

Almost on a daily basis, we encounter new challenges and are tasked with providing solutions for them. Getting to work with our innovative team spread globally, and working with clients across industries to learn about their pain points and then provide solutions that become industry-standard templates for others would definitely rank amongst the most interesting aspects of what we do.

The process of innovation involves a myriad of steps that we undertake, including problem discovery, solution design, prototyping, considering and handling various scenarios, and then building a strategy for resolution. This journey then matures into the execution phase, where our innovative teams build and augment our current plethora of solutions and enrich our portfolio of offerings, thereby making them the “Go-To” solutions for the industries to which we cater.

Are there any ideological principles that your organisation follows to maintain the brand value?

The core philosophy of our organization revolves around producing user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing applications with enough flexibility to meet a wide range of vertical-specific demands. This has been the cornerstone around which each one of our enterprise applications is built.
This, undoubtedly, has tremendous advantages.

The skills needed to deploy, administer, and use our systems are, therefore, greatly reduced, bringing digital transformation into the reach of virtually any business, whether they slot themselves as SMEs or corporates.

As such, the return on investment that we are able to provide to our clients in terms of system acquisition, and ongoing systems utilization resource costs are kept low.

Considering the pace at which the SaaS market is growing, how important is it to keep innovating to stay in the game?

The old adage of “the only constant is change” is particularly true for the IT industry. Businesses are rapidly evolving in how they operate. Business ethos and values are continually changing. Moreover, their demands on tech and going the digital way are rapidly rising.

Businesses are continually moving towards “Systemic Intelligence” as opposed to “Individualistic Intelligence,” and thereby, the demands for standardized, on-demand, real-time tech access is becoming more and more relevant.

Now, more than ever, mobility is a key component to digital business governance, and cloud solutions deployed on mobile devices with pay-as-you-go SaaS licensing is rapidly becoming the norm.

Incidentally, our organization has always been at the helm of paradigm-shifting innovation. We were amongst the first to roll out ERP solutions in the pre-windows era. Moreover, on the DOS-based platforms, we were amongst the very first solutions providers, who built a GUI-based interface for our users. That legacy stands strong today, and we remain at the cutting-edge of technology innovation and are already SaaS-enabled and have embraced cloud and mobility platforms.

It is our opinion that the SaaS explosion has only just begun and that rapidly we will see a huge spike in SaaS businesses worldwide. In fact, this will be even more applicable in the current situation of global affairs.
