In the last years, the way people work has been changing rapidly. According to a survey, remote work increased productivity by 47 percent last year.  But not all companies are looking for remote employees only. So the companies that need to ensure better employee productivity in the office while saving time, should follow the following tips.

When giving tasks to the employees, ensure that the skill set they possess goes along with the task at hand and that they are comfortable with the role they are assigned. If their skillset does not match the task given to them, automatically they will be less efficient and the results will be questionable. Always play to the strengths of the team. For example, a creative extroverted person is an excellent choice for pitching ideas to clients. If you give these people mundane tasks, they will lose focus. Hence, it is crucial to observe the behaviors of employees and use their skills to their best.

Developing an environment of accountability in the workspace keeps the employees focused and productive. They have a clear idea of their responsibilities and must answer if things go south. Accountability makes the employees work better. During the hiring process, it should be considered whether the person is a serious time manager or not. Emphasize accountability during the interview to find candidates who take productivity seriously.

Open communication with employees is key to employee motivation, especially in big companies like pharmaceutical CBM. No one likes working for a boss with whom they can not talk openly about their problems. If you show your employees that you care and that they can come to you in case of any work-related problems, they will not only respect you as a leader but work harder. When they show up with their concerns and inputs regarding work, listen and do your best to help them. Follow up on the conversation later so that they know their input matters. Open communication also includes sharing information and plans with employees to ensure that everyone is on board.

  • Incentivize the Work Space:

Providing incentives and rewards for the completion of certain work in a specific style and time frame makes your employees more invested, focused, and productive. Many employers use gamification to make work fun and introduce healthy competition for efficiency and productivity. Rewarding employees for hard work by introducing awards like employee of the month also increases the will for hard work among the employees. Providing the employees with various opportunities to be recognized and appreciated for their work and results will harness an efficient working environment in your office.

Building a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork among the employees goes a long way. An employee who believes in teamwork knows that he has to do his bit in the best way possible so that others can build on that work to gain extraordinary results. An employee with a strong sense of teamwork will be more productive and efficient because he knows that his work reflects on others too. Team building can be done by inculcating team building activities in the workspace; it goes a long way.

Working for hours on end makes a person tired, distracted, and less focused. To keep your employees focused on work, encourage breaks. Ask them to have a 10-minute break after working for hours. Use the ten minutes to relax, have a cup of coffee, get a snack, hydrate and then get back to work recharged. The Tork research shows that the employees who take a regular lunch break feel more appreciated by their employers and 81 percent of them want to play an active and focused role in the company.
